Mohali police have registered a case against Pastor Bajinder Singh for allegedly assaulting a 35-year-old woman pastor at his church in Baroudi village, New Chandigarh. The incident, which took place on February 14, came to light after a purported video of the assault circulated on social media and was later verified by authorities.
According to the victim, she had visited the church along with a man and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter when the altercation occurred. She alleged that Bajinder Singh slapped her, grabbed her by the throat, and pushed her after she objected to his behavior.
The dispute reportedly began while Bajinder Singh was in a meeting with a man whose sister had stopped attending the church. He allegedly suspected that the woman pastor had influenced the family’s decision to withdraw the girl from church activities.
The victim recorded her statement before DSP City 1 Mohit Aggarwal at Mullanpur police station. She also claimed that she has been facing online threats from Bajinder Singh’s supporters and fears for her safety.
Meanwhile, Bajinder Singh’s supporters have denied the allegations, asserting that the viral video is AI-generated and fabricated. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
