Punjab government committed to resolving legitimate demands of employees: Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema

Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema today reiterated the state government’s commitment towards employees and said that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully serious about resolving the issues of employees. He said that many important issues of employees, including those of unskilled employees, have already been resolved and the government is also actively considering the remaining legitimate demands.

Presiding over a high-level meeting at his office at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema discussed in detail the issues related to the Education Department and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. On this occasion, Secretary Expenditure Dr. V.N. Zade, Secretary Education Anindita Mitra, Special Secretary Personnel Upkar Singh, Special Secretary Finance Ajay Arora and Vice Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill along with other senior officials were present.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Cheema interacted with the representatives of Ex-Employees Wing Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab and ETT TET Pass Teachers Union (Jai Singh Wala). While interacting with the representative of the teachers’ organization, the Finance Minister assured that their legitimate demands are under process. He advised the organization that in future, instead of a single representative, a delegation of four-five leaders should attend the meeting for high-level discussions so that more meaningful discussions can be held on any issue and consensus can be reached.

Besides, while holding a meeting with the leaders of the ex-employee wing, the Finance Minister directed the Finance Department and other concerned departments to take necessary action on the legitimate demands. He reiterated that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is a pro-employee government and is committed to creating a supportive environment for all public servants.

In these meetings, Ex-Employees Wing Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab President Gurmail Singh Sidhu, District Secretary Khushvinder Kapila, Advisors Darshan Singh, Makhan Singh, Gurdev Singh Patiala and ETT TET Pass Teachers Union (Jai Singh Wala) President Kamal Thakur shared their demands and issues.
